Catalog description

Thermodynamics of single-component systems: laws of thermodynamics, thermodynamic properties, equations of state, properties of ideal and real fluids, phase transitions and phase equilibrium, design of thermodynamic processes including refrigeration and power cycles. This course is intended for undergraduate sophomores and juniors in engineering and/or the chemical sciences; first-year students require consent of instructor.
