Catalog description
This two-week mini course introduces nature journaling as a field-based practice for biologists to observe, document, and reflect on the living world. Through four sessions, students will learn the basic principles and historical background of nature journaling, with attention to how naturalists record animals, behavior, and environments. The course is especially relevant for students in the field of behavioral and neural biology, where careful observation of natural behavior can inform questions asked in the lab. Sessions include lectures, discussion, examples from naturalist practice, and guided outdoor journaling on campus.
