Catalog description

Plants lie at the heart of many potential solutions to the climate crisis. Yet, it can take years to develop plants with new, useful features. This course introduces students to plant biotechnology, with a focus on genetic engineering, the biological mechanisms underpinning key approaches, and paths to deployment. The class consists of lectures and group discussions emphasizing methods, results, and interpretations of classic and contemporary literature.
