Catalog description

Continuation of VIETLANG 22. This third course in a three-quarter sequence further advances the integration of language and culture, with an emphasis on refining proficiency in oral and written discourse. Targeted functional abilities include presentational and socio-culturally appropriate language in formal and informal contexts. The service-learning component emphasizes more sustained and reflective engagement, as students apply their growing proficiency in Vietnamese to participate in meaningful interactions with the local Vietnamese-speaking community through community visits and guest speakers. Prerequisite: VIETLANG 22 or by placement test. This course is certified as a Cardinal Course by the Haas Center.
