Catalog description

Continuation of VIETLANG 2. This third course in the sequence advances students' communication skills toward greater independence and confidence. More complex grammatical structures and expanded vocabulary are introduced through interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication. Elements of Vietnamese culture are incorporated. The service-learning component encourages students to apply their language skills in meaningful interactions with the local Vietnamese-speaking community through community visits and guest speakers. Prerequisite: VIETLANG 2 or by placement test. This course is certified as a Cardinal Course by the Haas Center.
