Catalog description

This course is designed for rising juniors and seniors who have applied and been accepted into Academic Advising's Peer Mentoring Program. This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to successfully support first year undergraduates in navigating their academic journeys. This course will cover broadly applicable topics, such as boundary setting, active listening, and leadership skills, and advising specific topics, such as supporting frosh mentees with General Education Requirements, course planning, and enrollment. Self reflection, assigned readings, role playing, and guest speakers will be important components of the course.
