ETC Eos Programming for Lighting Design
Stanford University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Before your lighting design vision can come to life on stage, you have to be able to patch the lights and program the cues. This skill-building course will guide students through various core and intermediate programming techniques for the ETC Eos family of lighting consoles. Students can expect to complete multiple lighting design projects in the light lab, while honing their programming skills with hands-on experience using an ETC Ion console and ETC Eos software. As we cover topics like show files, patching, magic sheets, presets, palettes, effects, and cue writing, you will gain the knowledge required to program and design lighting effectively in theatre spaces around campus and beyond!
