Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to introduce key topics in neuroscience and physiology while developing students' ability to communicate disciplinary knowledge through clear, evidence-based writing. Students will read and discuss primary literature, focusing on interpreting experimental data, evaluating study design, and integrating findings across studies. Topics may include neural plasticity, chronic pain, neurodegenerative disease, mental health, and physiological regulation. Assignments include figure analysis, literature synthesis, peer review, and development of an original research proposal.
