Catalog description

From sculptures that manipulate light to immersive environments that surround viewers with perception-shifting projection and illumination, light has rapidly become a prominent medium in today's visual art practice. In this hands-on course, we will create several light-based sculptures and/or installations while exploring our own interests in the illuminated world around us. During the course, we'll look to foundational Light and Space artists, like James Turrell and Olafur Eliasson, and discover cutting edge international lighting artists in order to gain inspiration for our work.
