Catalog description

Immerse yourself in the exciting process of creating Art you can wear! This studio course will practice the basic tools of garment construction as a platform to create clothing that embraces fashion, sculpture and more! Using the structure of New Zealand's World of Wearable Art International Competition, students will design and create wearable art pieces to show at the end of the intensive. Open to all skill levels, this course will cover basic sewing techniques as well as how to use more unconventional materials to create clothing. Students will have the opportunity to continue with the Stanford Wearable Art Collective after this course and enter their work in the World of Wearable Art for the 2027 Competition.
