Transforming Education through Entrepreneurship in the AI Era

Catalog description

What does it take to build an organization that meaningfully improves learning for students, especially those farthest from opportunity, when AI is changing the rules for everyone? This course trains students to make strategic decisions at the intersection of AI, entrepreneurship, and educational equity. We examine competing hypotheses about what AI can and cannot do: for learning, teacher development, assessment, closing opportunity gaps, and more. Students apply the Impact Triangle framework (efficacy, financial sustainability, scale) to analyze a range of organizations across the global education landscape, from AI-native startups to established edtech companies, school networks, and not-for-profits. This is a strategic leadership course, not a "how to launch a venture" course. It is designed for future founders, investors, NGO leaders, board members, and policymakers who believe that how this moment is navigated will determine educational opportunity for generations. The frameworks are broadly applicable across social impact sectors. Attendance at the first session is required.
