Introduction to Cancer Biology

Catalog description

This course will examine the biological processes that are disrupted in cancer, such as DNA repair, cell cycle control, and signaling pathways. Students will learn the molecular mechanisms by which tumors gain and maintain a growth advantage and potential therapeutic targets. This course will also explore the science behind cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatments as well as emerging topics in the field such as cancer stem cells. Please only enroll in the lecture section (section 01) on Axess. Discussion section enrollment will be handled on Canvas. As long as you sign up for the lecture section on Axess, you will receive an e-mail a week before classes begin to guide you on how to sign up for a section on Canvas. Students are required to attend their assigned discussion section each week.
