Catalog description

This course aims to introduce students to the principles of design and thinking; key issues related to migration and cities; different types of evidence for assessing and responding to challenges and opportunities arising from migration; and the use of concepts, theories, and data to create design solutions. The class will likely select a client (such as a local city) who presents a design challenge. We will meet with the client several times and visit the city to better understand the problem. Students will collaborate as a class on the design challenge with the goal of delivering a solution by the end of the quarter.
