This graduate-level course introduces advanced methods in quantitative social science research, focusing on topics not covered in depth by the core 450AD sequence. It is designed to complement existing training by equipping students with tools commonly used or being developed in Political Science. Topics include conjoint analysis, causal mediation, post-stratification, sensitivity and power analysis, non-classic measurement errors, complex experiments with interference, and advanced panel data methods. Emphasis is placed on both conceptual understanding and practical implementation. The course is intended for PhD students in political science and related fields who seek to expand their methodological toolkit for rigorous empirical research.
