Taiji Quan (Tai Chi) is a traditional Chinese martial art known for its slow, mindful movements that promote physical fitness, mental relaxation, and overall well-being. This course introduces students to the 24 Forms of Yang-Style Tai Chi through a combination of meditative movement, breath regulation, and focus on proper posture and alignment. Students will explore the foundational principles of Tai Chi and develop a deeper sense of mind-body awareness and connection. This course will utilize class discussions, reflective assignments, and active participation to enable students to: (1) develop Tai Chi skills for physical fitness, (2) implement Tai Chi principles, applications, and practice guides into their daily life. (3) make intelligent choices within their lives that contribute to a more balanced, healthy, and active lifestyle.
