Catalog description

Students will learn a variety of exercises that strengthen the entire body. Along with using the TRX straps, other equipment (free weights, stability balls, medicine balls, sliding discs, resistance bands, and more) will be utilized to integrate strength, endurance, balance, and coordination into a total body workout session. This course will utilize class discussions, class assignments, and student participation to enable students to: (1) Understand basic components of health-related physical fitness such as cardiovascular, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility (2) Develop physical fitness and motor skills, and (3) Gain knowledge to make intelligent choices that contribute to a healthy active lifestyle.
