GEN 13390
Survey of Current Topics in Experimental Particle Physics
Stanford University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
In this 1-unit seminar-style class, we will cover the major topics in experimental particle physics today: the Higgs Boson, neutrino properties, direct and indirect searches for dark matter, particle and wave-like dark matter, measurements of the flavor sector, and motivations for future colliders. The emphasis will be on experimental tests of these topics. Students will read papers related to each topic and each student will prepare a topic for presentation. It is assumed that students have completed undergraduate coursework and have some knowledge of particle physics. Pre-requisites: Physics 152/252 or equivalent. QFT or graduate-level particle physics is encouraged as well.
