Catalog description

In this introduction to painting en Plein Air (painting in the field), we will practice painting on site focusing on landscape, buildings, foliage, water, birds, figures etc. We will study historic and contemporary painters working from life and discuss the relevance or plein air within contemporary life. In class projects students will work from observation to train a working knowledge or color, value, chroma, and texture in order to make paintings which reflect their individual experiences of being present in the world.
