Catalog description

PAs in Health Care II equips students with advanced clinical and procedural skills essential for success in clinical clerkships and future medical practice. Through immersive, hands-on training, students gain experience in key bedside procedures, including suturing, gynecologic examination, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). The course also prompts critical engagement with contemporary challenges in healthcare, such as the integration of artificial intelligence and the health impacts of climate change. Two reflective sessions support professional identity formation and self-assessment of readiness for clinical practice, while clerkship preparation activities help students access key performance resources and strengthen confidence for supervised patient care. This course is offered to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program only.Prerequisite: Successful completion of PAS 291
