Quantitative Research II

Catalog description

This is a course in the MSPA program that builds on theory and skills learned in PAS 257. This course will provide intermediate-level quantitative research skills to prepare the student to conduct and guide the analyses of their thesis project and help lead future quantitative research projects. The course focuses on data management, statistics, modeling, multivariate analyses, interpretation of quantitative results, limitations of quantitative methods, and approaches to formally present quantitative findings. Throughout the course, students will work on their capstone project using quantitative methodology, culminating in an oral presentation and a written draft of their methods and results, including tables and figure/graphs. The written draft (5-10 pages) should be suitable for the methods and results section of their thesis project or a peer-reviewed manuscript. This course is offered to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program only.Prerequisites: Successful completion of PAS 257.
