Inter/Transdisciplinary Research and Environmental Art Co-Creation

Catalog description

The course is designed to immerse students in a unique experiential learning journey to understand sustainability from both scientific and artistic perspectives, emphasizing active engagement and co-creation in tackling environmental challenges. We use the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a foundational framework, encouraging students to take personal responsibility for planetary wellbeing. The knowledge delivery structure unfolds in three main segments - Theories, Tools, and Studio/Lab - beginning with the students' own environmental inquiries. Collectively, we seek answers through these segments. Each segment builds on the previous one, deepening understanding, developing interdisciplinary skills for dissecting global challenges, and facilitating collaborative art projects. We aim to translate ecological research, environmental education into moving and impactful narratives that could inspire change and foster guardianship for Earth's future.
