This course is an in-depth exploration of one of the most complex and multifaceted chapters in Italy's history. We will study the historical phenomenon of Italian colonialism, with a particular focus on the far-reaching social and cultural repercussions that unfolded as a result. While we will briefly touch on the diplomatic and military dimensions of Italian colonialism, our primary focus will be the profound societal transformations that were set in motion by the expansion of the Italian colonial empire, both for those who were colonized and the colonizers themselves.
