Museums at the Crossroads

Decolonization, restitution and repatriation, contested or stolen objects, inclusive exhibitions, diverse leadership - these are just some of the issues, topics, and lived realities that museums are grappling with the world over. In this hybrid seminar/speaker series/ site visit course, we will use German museums as case studies to explore the intellectual, political, and practical debates that matter in museums. The goal is to develop a nuanced understanding of the challenges facing the culture sector in the twenty-first century.
