Catalog description
This course is intended to provide an overview of regulations and laws applying to the health care system. Topics covered include the contractual relationship established between patient and provider as well as patient and health insurance company; state and federal regulations regarding licensing, health care facilities, and health care insurance; and state and federal laws governing health care, privacy and bioethics. In addition, the course will give an in-depth look at the governing case law in each of these areas as well as addressing issues surrounding liability in the health care profession and medical malpractice.<br><br>Prerequisite BUL 2241 with a minimum grade of C or Prerequisite BUL 2131 with a minimum grade of C or Prerequisite BUL 3310 with a minimum grade of C or Prerequisite BUL 3320 with a minimum grade of C or Permission of the Program
