This course is designed to introduce students to the craft of songwriting as well as to help experienced songwriters discover new strategies to expand their technique. Focus is on contemporary music, especially, but not limited to, popular music and jazz. The course provides information that can be immediately applied to composing songs.<br><br>Prerequisite MUT 1001 with a minimum grade of C and Admission to Music Industry/Recording Arts (Associate in Science) (MIRAS-AS)
