Catalog description

<p>This course is designed to examine English grammar from the field of modern linguistics as it applies to English language pedagogy. Students will analyze personal beliefs about, use of, and understanding of grammar. Course content considers prescriptive and descriptive uses of grammar with a focus on how grammar is used in various contextualized situations as well as a consideration of methods of grammar instruction. The course also emphasizes the development of concepts and resources needed to explain and teach grammar in meaningful and appropriate ways.</p><br><br>Admission to Secondary English Education with Reading and ESOL Endorsement (Bachelor of Science) (ENGEDR-BS)
