Catalog description
This course presents the principles and concepts of vulnerability as it relates to health and health care. This course offers a general framework to study vulnerable populations and a comprehensive overview of risk factors for vulnerability and consequences of health disparities in the United States. Students will learn about trends and patterns of disparity that impact health care access, quality of health care and health outcomes. Students will also examine current strategies aimed at serving vulnerable populations and resolving disparities.<br><br>(Prerequisite HSA 4184 with a minimum grade of C and Admission to Health Services Administration (Bachelor of Applied Science) (HSA-BAS)) or (Prerequisite DEH 3813 with a minimum grade of C and Admission to Dental Hygiene (Bachelor of Applied Science) (DENH-BAS))
