Catalog description

This course serves to increase the knowledge, awareness and skills of potential and current Human Service professionals, other professionals in related fields and interested individuals in the community regarding the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in relation to the drug culture. The course provides an overview of HIV/AIDS pathology, clinical manifestations and treatment, including the psychosocial management of HIV/AIDS in the substance abusing and recovering population. Students learn about local and national agencies to enhance their ability to refer appropriately.<br><br>No Requisites Required
