Catalog description

<p>This course introduces students to divergent thinking as a core creative strategy for generating multiple, innovative solutions in interactive and immersive design. It explores the intersection of human and machine intelligence, creative problem-solving, and physical computing emphasizing practices such as observation, inquiry, experimentation, and playful exploration. Students will expand their creative capacities to build digital experiences through hands-on prototyping, interactive media exercises, and structured critique. The course cultivates openness to emerging technologies and new modes of engagement while grounding experimentation in practical application. Technical emphasis includes the use of Arduino and other microcontrollers for sensor-based input, Vibe Coding for expressive digital output, and AI tools for rapid prototyping and iteration. By the end of the course, students will be able to&nbsp;generate ideas&nbsp;broadly, challenge assumptions, and develop innovative solutions to complex design problems at the intersection of virtual and physical worlds.</p><br><br>Admission to Digital Media (Bachelor of Applied Science) (DIGME-BAS) and Prerequisite DIG 2109 with a minimum grade of C and (Prerequisite ART 1201C with a minimum grade of C or Prerequisite DIG 2131 with a minimum grade of C)
