Catalog description

This course introduces basic concepts, issues and techniques related to designing, developing and deploying Web sites using current Web standards. During the course, students will explore Web design, HyperText Markup Language (HTML), Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Students will author World Wide Web sites using markup and development software. Students will be introduced to Web design theory by focusing on various concepts such as layout, typography, color theory, and usability. This course places a heavy emphasis on individual page design and layout. Current mobile Web design trends will also be explored. The students will have the opportunity to develop and publish a Web site from initial concept to publication.<br><br>Prerequisite computer competency met.
