Catalog description

Science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction are influential genres in United States culture. These stories present new worlds or alter aspects of our current world and explore the implications for humanity. This course explores the world building of these stories and their implications for how humans should live in the world. It compares these stories to Christian worldviews and their implications for how to live in our time and culture. The result of the course is a deeper grasp of how beliefs shape actions and an exploration of ways Christianity can be lived out. Prerequisites Th 1301 or HO 1305 .
