Catalog description

This course focuses on fertilities in societies and childbearing among individuals and couples. In particular the cross-cultural approaches to women’s reproductive health issues. We will explore classical theories of fertility change at the societal level and contemporary critiques of these theories. We will also examine the determinants of fertility and reproductive health with special attention to the effects of racism, sexism and poverty in developed and developing countries. Prerequisite SC 1311 .
