Using landmark Supreme Court decisions, theoretical frameworks, and contemporary case studies, the course analyzes key constitutional protections including freedom of speech, religion, privacy, due process, and equal protection under the law. The seminar pays special attention to the Court's role in interpreting the Bill of Rights, applying civil liberties protections through the Fourteenth Amendment, and balancing individual rights with government powers.
