Catalog description

A comprehensive examination of the structure, powers, and interactions of the three core branches of the American national government: the Presidency, Congress, and the Judiciary. The course emphasizes theoretical frameworks, historical development, and contemporary dynamics within and across institutions. Students will analyze the evolution of executive authority, legislative behavior, and judicial decision-making, with particular attention to interbranch conflict, institutional norms, and the implications of polarization, partisanship, and public accountability.
