Catalog description

Students examine several core areas of International Law including 1. The sources of International Law, 2. The use of force, and 3. International Human Rights Law. They study original treaties and other documents to assess the dimensions and impacts of these legal instruments in the establishment and maintenance of peace or in the degradation of situations leading to further massive human rights violations. They determine elements of design, implementation, and enforcement within the political, economic, religious, ethnic, and historic contexts in the International Community that make these documents successful. Student research seminal cases in International Law. (Spring only; even years).
