Catalog description

Students will examine core concepts and challenges in conducting empirical research for publication in scholarly management journals. Students will discuss the framing of research questions, theory development, the initial choices involved in research design, and basic concerns in empirical testing. Students will then consider these issues in the context of different modes of empirical research (including research using experimental, survey, qualitative, and archival methods). Students will conduct a research study and present research findings in a class symposium. Prerequisites: QM 3321 or permission of the instructor. (Spring only).
