Acquisition and development of basic reading skills from pre-kindergarten through the intermediate grades with a focus on the scope and sequence of skills needed for effective comprehension and independent reading. Instructional strategies for teaching English language learners, special populations, and struggling readers will be emphasized. Structured observations and field experience required.
