Catalog description

Fundamentals of mammalian structure and form, illustrated by organ systems. Topics include the skeletal, muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, and lymphatic systems, with attention to anatomical terminology, regional relationships, and clinically relevant anatomical concepts. Laboratory investigations utilize dissections, anatomical models, imaging, and other instructional resources to develop anatomical identification skills and an understanding of three-dimensional relationships. This course focuses on anatomy and does not include a comprehensive study of physiology (e.g. “A&P”). (Fall odd year/every Spring) Prerequisites: BL 2330 , BL 2332 , & BL 2233L. (All courses serving as prerequisites in the School of Science, Engineering and Technology must be completed with a “C” or better in order to advance to the next sequenced course. Note: BL 2332 is not required for Forensic Science Biology Majors) (Lecture 3 hours; Lab 4 hours). An additional fee is associated with this course.
