Catalog description
Using data analytics software to examine real-world accounting datasets, students will develop skills in data preparation, analysis, and visualization to extract meaningful business insights. Students will gain hands-on experience with analytics tools and learn to translate accounting problems into actionable proposals for managers and data scientists. The course emphasizes conceptual understanding and practical application rather than algorithms or statistical mathematics. Prerequisites: EC2301, EC 2303 , MT 1305 or MT 1411 or MT 2412 , MT 2306 or MT 2303 , AC 2301 , AC 2302 , QM 3321 , AC 3331 or QM 3330 or permission of the instructor. May not be taken as both AC 4345 and AC 6345.
