Catalog description
This course is designed for students studying the sciences and mathematics and will fulfill their general education requirement. The course provides corequisite support component, offering additional instructional time and resources to ensure student success. Topics include intermediate algebra and an extended treatment of topics such as equations, inequalities, relations and functions, including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions and graphs. Additional topics include solving linear systems of equations by various methods. This course is designed to illustrate several ways in which mathematcis is used in the "real world". We will explore some topics of general interest which are not typically taught in a formal mathematics class. The goals is for you to see not only how uself mathematics is but also how beautiful and elegant it can be.
