SOCIAL THEORY OF SPORT

Catalog description

This course examines sport in the social and political context of contemporary society. Critical theories relating to race, class, gender, ethnicity, faith and traditions, economics, and political structure are examined in the context of our social responsibility in human movement environments. There is a service component to this course. A required 10-hour practicum provides experiences in physical activity programs.
