THEORY/TECHNIQUES OF COACHING

Catalog description

This course provides the student with the background and knowledge of what is needed to know to become an effective coach in interscholastic sports. Objectives, rules, regulations, policies, organization and management of practices will be studied. Major challenges and tasks facing coaches will be explored which include training and conditioning, safety precautions and officiating. NYS Coaching Certification requires 30 hours practicum.
