Catalog description
This course introduces students to the concepts and principles surrounding implemenation and evaluation of health promotion programs intended to promote community and population health while preventing disease in a variety of settings. The foundation of the course will be the skills necessary to develop an implementation and evaluation strategy for a planned health promotion initiative, taking into consideration the phases of implementation and evaluation that include coordinating delivery of the intervention consistent with the implementation plan, delivering health education and promotion inverventions, and monitoring/evaluating the implementation. Students will be introduced to ethical considerations, and resources and skills required to implement and evaluaute a successful health promotion program. In order to evaluate the program, students will adopt or modify existing instruments for data collection, implement data collection procedures, and prepare date to disseminate findings.
