This course examines how financial technology (FinTech) is transforming the economics of global business and the future of finance. Using case studies of digital payments, blockchain, decentralized finance (DeFi), robo-advisory platforms, and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), students explore how FinTech disrupts traditional banking and capital markets, drives financial inclusion, and creates new opportunities and risks. Emphasis is placed on global perspectives, including FinTech developments in emerging markets, regulatory challenges, and strategic implications for multinational corporations (MNCs). Students will develop the ability to evaluate FinTech innovations, assess their economic impact, and craft strategies to navigate an evolving financial and technological landscape.
