A required introductory course in the methods of this course is to familiarize the student with the most famous philosophies of history and to instruct the student in the techniques of how to gather and to organize facts, to check their accuracy and to report the findings simply, clearly and gracefully. The course will unify the history major's program and prepare the student to do independent research in History 498-499.
