HUMAN ECOLOGY

Catalog description

This course is designed for the liberal arts student who is interested in the relationship between humans and their natural environment. The integrative concept of humans as one species in a global ecosystem will be emphasized. Elementary ecological principles will be applied to such environmental problems as energy resources, land use, air and water pollution, and species extinction. We will seek solutions along multidisciplinary lines, including economics, political science, and environmental ethics.
