Catalog description
This course examines the molecular and cellular basis of humoral and cellular immunity, in lecture and hands-on laboratories. Antibody structure and function, the origin of antibody diversity and the nature of cellular immunity are examined. Other topics include the role of the major histocompatibility complex in immunity, regulation of the immune system, manifestations of defective regulation (autoimmunity and hypersensitivities) and immunity to infectious agents.
