Catalog description

This course examines eukaryotic cells from the perspective of organelle ultrastructure and function, and the regulation of cell function through the differential expression of genes. Lecture topics include cell cycle, chromosome structure, mechanisms of gene regulation, the molecular biology of cancer and recombinant DNA technology. The lab component reinforces the lecture by emphasizing hands-on experimental approaches to the study of cell structure and function.
