Catalog description

The first of a two-course sequence that studies the physiology and anatomy of the human body. The chemical and cellular bases for these sciences will be studied. The structure and correlated function of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, digestive, endocrine and reproductive systems will be examined. The biological controls that result in the integration of these systems will be discussed. The hands-on laboratory will consist of the observation of organ system structures on the microscopic and gross anatomy levels. It will also use measurement techniques to quantitatively study physiological processes.
