APRN Transition to Practice

Catalog description

This course prepares students for the transition to the role of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. This course guides students in preparation for the national board certification examination. Students learn how the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner integrates a culmination of knowledge into clinical practice. Understanding evidence-based interventions, the scope of practice, and coordinating mental health care is essential in the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner role. Prerequisite(s): NUR 7542 . The instructor or student may seek an exception to the prerequisites with permission from the Program Director.
